Sarina earned a Masters of Counselling Degree at City University of Seattle (Vancouver). She sees clients in Richmond, BC and works with individuals with a range of presenting matters including anxiety, depression, life transitions, career, and family related challenges.
Sarina has expertise in evidence-based Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and also employs solution focused, narrative, mindfulness, and strength based techniques to help clients improve their well-being and reach their goals. She also has specialized knowledge and training focused on trauma and working with families dealing with separation and divorce. Sarina has particular interest working with youth, adults, seniors, and executives.
She has helped people struggling with issues such as:
· Grief and Loss (including ambiguous loss)
· Life transitions including career
· Immigration to Canada
· Boundary setting
· Intimate partner violence
· Low self esteem
· Supporting family members whose loved one has Autism
Sarina sees the therapeutic relationship as core importance for clients and strives to cultivate a safe and respectful environment for all clients where they feel heard, understood, and seen as a unique individual. From this place, discussion and goal setting is accomplished together and is tailored for each distinct person and their situation.
