Esha Chakraborti is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Doctoral Student in Clinical Psychology. Esha is working with Dr. Joti Samra in the role of a doctoral practicum student. She is completing her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at Adler University (Vancouver), where she is training to become a registered psychologist. 

Esha has experience working as a registered clinical counsellor, as well as clinical training in cognitive and personality assessments. She has completed her Master of Counselling Psychology from Adler University and BA (Psychology) from Simon Fraser University, where she was awarded the Vice-President Research Undergraduate Student Research Award (VPR USRA) for Social Sciences and Humanities.

Esha volunteered with police-based Victim Services for several years providing on-scene and telephone support to victims, prior to becoming a Registered Clinical Counsellor. Esha currently works with Student/Employee Assistance Programs primarily providing counselling for anxiety and life transitions to young professionals. Esha also provides counselling for youth and families, along with working with First Nations clients.

As a first-generation immigrant, Esha understands that clients come from different upbringings and cultures. She respects, accepts and incorporates a client’s family, cultural or other beliefs within therapy. Esha’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, supportive and non-judgmental. She uses evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Approaches, and Family Systems.

Esha can understand and speak Bengali and Hindi. Esha offers sessions via telehealth (remote videoconference) as well as at Suite 908 – 938 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z 1N9.
